Today           

I cried tears of joy

knowing You            were waiting for me

to drown my sins

to wash me clean     fill me with wonder

in the midst of the congregation

my new family

 

I openly wept           and laughed

at the same time

in the arms of my friends

who got wet   holding me tightly                in return

 

today I found my way

this is where   I am to stay

to give my love and energy away

while gaining the same       tenfold

 

today I found peace

and forgiveness

 

today I found my soul

under water              at my baptism
