Serve

in the kingdom of God

Serving with a Small Group

Sometimes the hardest work is the most enjoyable, and it’s even more fun with other people. Our small groups regularly serve the needs of others and build friendships along the way. Find a group that works for you.

Why & Where to Serve

As followers of Jesus, we are all called to serve. It’s part of God’s plan for us to live full lives and experience him by putting others’ needs ahead of our own. We want to help you discover what kind of serving would be best for you. From behind-the-scenes opportunities to supporting our international teams to getting involved in opportunities around our city, we know God has a place for you to serve and to grow.

Opportunities To Serve

Have you ever felt a deep sense of satisfaction from doing something you love?  It might be helping a child grasp a new idea, creating a beautiful landscape, or maybe you just love organizing things (a little too much). God created each of us uniquely. Each of us with built-in talents, abilities, mind-sets, strengths and weaknesses. And all of us with specific passions to do something useful with our time, energy, and talents. At the Vineyard, we want to allow you to have some fun with the skills God gave to you. Because when each of us does the things we love to do, our community becomes a healthier place to be, and a community that reflects the entire spectrum of God’s amazingness. It becomes just like a picture of a healthy body, with happy, correctly-functioning, anatomy.

But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
– 1 Corinthians 12:18-20

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
– 1 Peter 4:8-11

Browse through this collection of opportunities and ask God if there is some area at the Vineyard where he would like to use you. Maybe there is something you’ve not done before but you think might be neat. Even if it might look a bit challenging, it might just be one of the most satisfying things you’ve ever done.  If you’re having trouble choosing or maybe you have a new idea, let us know. We want to allow you to do whatever God is up to. Contact Casey LaCore at [email protected] or 218-525-3462.

Christ is inviting you to serve and “play” in his kingdom.
