Assisted Living

,

Assisted Livings can be a place of loneliness, homelessness, mental and physical limitations, and spiritual oppression, so it’s incredible to be able to extend a hand of gentleness and a willing ear that will listen and encourage those who have a hunger for a relationship with God.

Clothing Closet

,

Want to support the clothing closet? You can either donate or volunteer! We collect gently used clothes for a “Free Clothing Closet” that happens each week at the Fruit of the Vine Foodshelf. We also have volunteers help sort donations and organize our clothing closet. Volunteers gather to sort clothing Tuesday and Friday mornings if you want to do it with a team! We also have volunteers “staff” the clothing closet during our food shelf hours, to help guests pick out clothes.

We want every college student in the Twin Ports area to know and experience the love of Jesus and to feel welcomed into this community where they can feel safe to discuss doubts, build lasting relationships, ask questions, and feel supported. We want to connect with both the college students already attending the Vineyard and the students who might not even step foot in a church and build relationships.

Fruit of the Vine Foodshelf

,

The food shelf is one way that we as a church get to express the beautiful compassion of Jesus to those in the Twin Ports area by feeding the hungry. We get the chance to not only hand out food and clothing, but help our guests in the food shelf experience the love and radical welcome of Jesus when they walk through the door. And, we have a blast doing it! Our food shelf is open to anyone in the Twin Ports area that has a need. Guests receive a week’s worth of food that they get to pick out themselves, and can also pick out clothes from our clothing closet at their visit. Our volunteers get the opportunity to love people from all different backgrounds as we serve our guests and point them towards the hope that is in Jesus by helping to meet their practical needs. We exist to build bridges of friendship and allow Jesus to walk across them.

The food shelf is open Tuesday evenings from 6pm – 8pm and Saturday mornings from 9:30am -11:30am. We ask volunteers to come 30 minutes before we open so we have time to set up, get to know each other, pray together, and also make sure everyone is trained into a role and feels comfortable. There are various roles to volunteer in, such as: intake (our check-in process), meat distribution (setting out different meat items and helping guests find what they need), personal shoppers (taking guests/households through the food shelf and helping them pick up their items, package them, and chat and pray with them if they’d like), check out (weighing and recording what we give away), carry out (just like it sounds, bringing groceries out to people’s cars), and prayer & connection team members (hanging out with them in the waiting room, praying as needs come up, and playing games and keeping people company while they wait). We would love to have you join us on a Tuesday at 5:30-8:30pm or a Saturday at 9:00am-12:30pm. Email Katie at [email protected] or call 218-525-3462 to set up a time to come and check it out! If you enjoy it, you’ll have the opportunity after you try it out to join a team to serve monthly, weekly, on-call, or somewhere in between.

Grounds Maintenance and Snow Removal Teams

,

We want to keep our grounds and parking lots safe, accessible, and welcoming to all who come to Duluth Vineyard. Doing this lessens distractions that may hinder someone from meeting with Jesus. It also is a way that we express our gratitude to God for the gift of property that He has entrusted to us.

Mentoring For Disciples

Ruth had Naomi, Timothy had Paul, C.S. Lewis had J.R.R. Tolkien. Throughout history, God has used folks who are a bit farther along on the path toward him to help point newer followers in the right direction. Would you like to be part of that kind of powerful relationship? If you are interested in mentoring a young adult or someone who has been newly saved or baptized, and being someone who can give them perspective and encouragement in their walk with Jesus, please let us know.

Prison Ministry

Inmates are able to encounter Jesus through the mail! Every week, volunteers transcribe the message from the weekend’s service and mail them to around 400 prisoners. Inmates can also send us prayer requests so we can support them. Feedback from inmates assures us that the weekly message mailing is deeply appreciated and helps them to learn and grow in their relationship with Jesus. Volunteering time is flexible and done from home!.
