We all lead and have influence to some degree on those around us. The world has all kinds of ideas about what makes a great leader. But in God’s kingdom, leading is actually all about serving.
We all want to receive a fair wage. We’re even willing to work hard to be rewarded well. But God’s kingdom doesn’t work like that. Through Jesus’ generosity, we can be free from having to earn our way to a great life. When we accept his overwhelming generosity, it helps us in turn, bless others.
We all want to live the good life, full of meaning, purpose, beauty, love, joy (what Jesus in the Bible calls “eternal life”). We look for that good life in all sorts of ways, but unless we let God rule our lives, it will always go badly. John shows us how surrendering to God’s love, trusting him, and obeying his guidance, will lead us to that really great life.
If following Jesus is about anything, it’s about forgiveness. John continues our series on how God’s kingdom works, talking about what real forgiveness looks like and how we can both receive it and extend it to others.
We are all looking for significance and to find it, we must go back to square one. Justin shares out of Matthew on what it means to become like a child to find significance in the Kingdom.
