Michael continues our series in the gospel of Matthew where we look at two of Jesus followers, two of the biggest scoundrels in the whole story, Peter and Judas. What can we learn from their betrayal and denial?

Brenda continues our series on the suffering of Jesus by bringing us into the story of Jesus’ trial. Â She helps us ask ourselves how we relate to the motivations of Judas, the Priests and Pilate in this story.
What if it would grieve our hearts to be outside of God’s presence? Brian talks about how Jesus’ suffering reopened the way into God’s presence and 4 ways we can experience more of God’s presence today.
How do we come to more fully know and understand the suffering of Jesus? Â Communion, the family meal, is one way we remember what Jesus did on the cross and John shares how this is one way to experience Christ’s suffering.
Unless we are intentional about coming to a deeper understanding of the cross, it is very easy for us to drift away from the life-giving meaning of the gospel itself. Brenda starts out our Knowing the Suffering of Jesus series by sharing about the cross as the most successful failure.
